Police App Denied

My dad called me yesterday to tell me that my application for the police department was denied. It’s ok. Life goes on. Now I know where I stand and I can pursue other avenues :-)

As I’ve been saying for quite some time now…

Not too bad

First time in a while I’ve been under a 9:00 mile. I did an out an back from my place. Had a nice breeze in my face on the way back :-)

Started to be ‘one of those days’. Already had the GU down the hatch, and got a call from my Grandpa who is in town. Talked to him while I waited for my GPS to sync. It was almost 10-15 minutes and it wasn’t pairing, so I said ’screw it’ and started my chrono and headed out.

I’m normally looking at my watch to keep myself around 9:00-9:30, but since it wasn’t syncing I had no clue. I only looked at it once during the run and it had finaly paired up.

It was nice to run and not worry about the pace, and I still did it in under 9:00. Woo hoo for me! LOL ;-)

No excuses..But sometimes it’s just LIFE that gets in the way of a planned run

I’m fairly new to the whole concept of running & “full time” single parenting. I don’t think I’ve done too shabby of job of juggling “both”.

I’ve even tried to figure in a way for my son to come along, since I can’t just leave him home alone or “assume” that anyone home with him will watch him. But lately not being able to run or go as far as I want to stems from the above.

I truly do like to run ~after the first 2 miles..they are my nemesis~never thought I would utter those words in my life. For the first time.. I envisioned myself running across the finish line of my first marathon. It was so weird.

I’ve only been running for about 3 1/2 months now and I’m up to 11 miles @ a 10:20 pace. I don’t think that is too bad.

In MY running I try to keep no more than a 9:30 pace, so when I got a comment that the above run I did was done @ a good pace. That surprised me. In my eyes I thought I was a slow poke. I guess we are our own worst critiques!

My son dropped my computer and somehow all but 4 of my songs got deleted. I still run. It’s annoying at first but having ADHD I can tune it out. LOL As long as I have noise/music I can think about “other” things.

Life gets in our way sometimes and it IS a legitimate “excuse” for missing a run. When I miss one..especially if I’ve been thinking about it all day and I get home and I can’t..it really gets my panties in a wad!

OFFICIALLY MOVED! WHEW!

Walk-thru complete. Only thing they’re gonna charge me for is to have someone rake up the millions of oak leaves surrounding the house :-)

If it’s not one thing..it’s another LOL

Tried to run again tonight. It was a no go. Ended up walking though..about a mile before it go too dark. The park doesn’t have lights like Mission Bay.

After Sundays incident with the 10,000 thorns in his tires…yesterday I bought my son these new inner tubes for his bike called ‘No more flats’. These things are AWESOME. They are almost solid rubber that takes the place of an air filled tube. Well, like the naive person I am, I bought ONE box thinking there were TWO tubes. Dee..dee..dee!!!! I found out there was only one, right after I was completely ready to go running. I still tried..by going to Walmart and buying another tube, only to remember that the second tube is for the BACK tire and it isn’t as easy as the front. I didn’t really want to preform this task at the park. So we decided to just walk a mile or so before going home.

I have the walk thru with my ex-landlords tomorrow night at 6:00pm, so I won’t be able to run tomorrow night either. These past few nights have been the perfect example of why I would need a gym membership to run the treadmill. I guess I just need to get my lazy butt up and run in the mornings. Then I don’t have to compete with the sunset. I don’t know. We’ll see. :-)

1st Run at Rohr

I was told that a full run around Rohr is 3.1. I was going to run it twice, but I decided to run on the streets. We set out…I got about 50 yds before I heard my son say Mom I have a problem. I turn around to see BOTH of his tires were LOADED with thorns. I qan’t about to stop this time. I told him to go back to the car & wait for me.

I continued to the street we were going to turn on but instead of turning I doubled back. At the next light I decided to get onto the park trail, but whe I got to where I thought cut thru the golf course, it didn’t so I doubled back again to the street and continued to where I left my car.

Not happy with my time, but that’s ok. There’s always tomorrow. ;-)

OOGILING OVER HARD BODIES!

I don’t know why I decided to write this. Maybe cuz it’s something that has been bugging of for a long time.

Don’t get me wrong I do my fair share of oogiling too, but most of the time when someone’s oogiling it’s all about SEX. And if that’s all you’re into I feel really sorry for you. This is what the world seems to be about now days, and is exactly why I didn’t want to be single again. LOL

A far as I’m concerned if you can find that person that you bond with EMOTIONALLY and PSYCHOLOGICALLY…SEX is just icing on the cake. What I mean is you find that person that you can just sit with and not say a word, or you snuggle with to watch a movie, or turn the TV off and just TALK about anything and everything. THAT would be AWESOME!

Is this asking too much? Is this proof that my head is in the clouds? (Others may say it is somewhere else..and to those I’m “one of THOSE PEOPLE that believe in no sex before marriage” LOL)

Cuz later in life that HARD BODY isn’t gonna be so HOT around 70 or 80..LOL :-P

But this is just my opinion..and you know what they say about opinions.. ;-)

Peace Out!

I GOT YELLED @ BY THE GOODWILL GUY!

I went back this morning to drop off the cushions for one of the couches. He started going OFF on me! Took down my license plate #. I told him my neighbor told me about the drop off but he didn’t care. I was all freaked out that I’d have to use my u-haul to come back & get it. Luckily the Goodwill truck showed up to take the stuff away. He told me not to do it anymore. This was the first time I’ve used any of there places. Makes ya not want to help again

MOVING DAY!

Holy cow! I didn’t know I had so much stuff, or it might just be that it’s little stuff that’s spread out. St Vincent de Paul bailed on me yesterday. Called them Tuesday & they called me yesterday to tell me I live too far away! So my neighbor & I had to move 3 couches and 3 twin mattresses @ 8 o’clock at nite! This morning I have to take my kid to get his shots for 7th grade. Then come home & run 4-5 miles to pick up my u-haul. LOL Gotta finish my oatmeal. Peace Out! :-)
